New Year’s Eve reflections

As 2017 draws to an end, it’s helpful to reflect on how far you have come this year on your journey. Whatever this year has brought you in terms of experiences, you are stronger and wiser than you were this time last year and that is something to be proud of.

Challenges help us grow and develop and gift us a different perspective. Good times can bring us the gift of gratitude and joy. Just living each day brings riches of wisdom, memories to reflect on and an opportunity for a fresh start with each and every sunrise.

Today, my hope for you is that you will have the opportunity to take some time for yourself to reflect on your year. Did you reach any goals you set for yourself? What were the best things about this year and the worst? Think about how you are a different person today than you were the last time December 31st rolled around and know that you will never be this person again. You will continue to develop and change as you react to and learn from all that the coming year will bring as a new year brings the opportunity to learn, love and grow.

The new year is a traditional time to make resolutions and to focus on what you would like to change about yourself, your habits or your lifestyle. I prefer to set broader goals like improving my overall health, saving every payday and striving to do my best. This year I have also come up with a special list of goals- my 40 before 40 challenge and I will share that list soon!

Whether you decide to set a specific resolution, a series of more general goals, a to- do list of experiences you hope to have in 2018, or simply plan to start the new year with no expectations or plans, I wish you a new year of peace, with time and space to reflect on your uniquely wonderful self.
